Instructions
- Heat Oil: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Cook Onions: Add the diced onions to the skillet and cook until they become translucent.
- Cook Beef: Add the ground beef, along with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper. Cook until the beef is fully cooked.
- Mix Ingredients: Transfer the cooked beef mixture into a large bowl. Add shredded cheese, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and the remaining 1 teaspoon of salt. Mix thoroughly.
- Prepare Dough: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out the pie crust and cut it into 4 pieces.
- Fill Dough: Place a spoonful of the beef and cheese mixture on one side of each piece of dough, leaving 1/4 inch (6 mm) from the edge. Fold the dough over to create a triangle.
- Seal Empanadas: Use a fork to crimp down the edges to secure the filling inside.
- Prepare for Baking: Transfer the empanadas onto a baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
