Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar optional, for a hint of sweetness
  • ¾ cup milk warm
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for a softer texture

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar to ensure even distribution.
  • Gradually pour in the warm milk, melted butter, and olive oil. Stir until the mixture forms a soft dough. If the dough feels too dry, add one more tablespoon of milk.
  • Lightly flour your hands and shape the dough into a round or oval loaf. If preferred, divide into smaller rolls for individual servings.
  • Place the dough on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  • For a crispier crust, brush the top with a little extra melted butter during the last few minutes of baking.
  • Let the bread cool for 5 minutes, then slice and serve warm with butter, honey, or your favorite spread.

Notes

Use warm milk for a softer texture. Avoid overmixing the dough to keep it light and fluffy. Experiment with add-ins like herbs, cheese, or sesame seeds for extra flavor.
